Our path took us north on I-15 because that is the only way we can go that gets us straight there. I-15 runs along the Virgin River for much of the way. At one point the road winds through the Virgin River Gorge, a narrow cut through the mountains. I have to say the interstate system in this country takes you through some impressive places.
The camera got left in the trailer so you get crappy HTC phone pics through a dirty windshield.
A picture of the gorge. Lots of pics on the web Google Virgin River Gorge on i-15.

A short drive but it took us through three states and a time zone.
We stopped at Zion River Resort which is on the Virgin River. Anyhow met some interesting people while Patrick went swimming and enjoyed a complimentary wine and cheese night with a singing cowboy. Not much in the way of camping close to Zion National Monument. The park campground is always full and you need reservations long in advance. This was a nice resort close to the park at a decent rate although no cell service.
