I had booked a ferry reservation for 11:00 to Port Townsend and we left with plenty of time to get to Coupeville. We got there early enough that they put us on the 10:15 ferry.

We left the ferry and joined the traffic onto 101 headed west.
In Port Angeles we left 101 for 112 to find Salt Creek RV and Golf. I'm not sure where the golf course was but the RV park was a little run down and it was quite sketchy but on a Labor Day weekend, beggars can't be choosers and we took a spot for two nights.
After unhooking, we went down to Salt Creek State Park. They have a very nice campground with wide paved spots facing the Straits of Juan de Fuca. They were all reserved as well as most of the other sites. In order to get reservations at this state park you had to mail in a reservation.

There was a small parking area with a stairway down to the water. Becky and Patrick took it down while I enjoyed the view from the top.

The State Park used to be a gun battery and they had much of the old fort sealed off to keep out the lurkers but the road wan through several of the openings and we could drive around the bunker.
After touring the park, we went down to Joyce to visit the old general store that has been in operation for many years and makes the list of things to see in Joyce. It also doubled as the post office for awhile.
When we left the store with root beers and candy it started to rain and after a brief side trip to see a dam that had been removed, we went back to the trailer and holed up. It's cold and rainy and we are all ready for a little warmth without sweatshirts and jackets.
