New Truck

On Monday I went shopping for a new truck. Becky didn't want anything white and she wanted leather seats and a bench so that I could slide over and not worry about climbing over the center console. I sat down with the salesman and we looked at used trucks and then went into the new trucks. I wanted the deep ocean blue metallic color. He gave all the information to some other guy who looked for the truck. They didn't think they would be able to find it because most come with two bucket seats in front. Ten minutes later he came back and said "I found your unicorn."

Now I'm waiting for the VA to get all the paperwork in order so we can have hand controls and a lift installed. Happy dance (moves like Jagger).

The house closes on Thursday and we will be packing up and moving into the trailer and get back on the road!

Still waiting.....

Ugh! Our buyer for the house is dragging out the process. The original closing date was on or before April 1st and that turned out to be an April Fool's joke. The buyers decided to switch banks in the middle of the process. That means they had to go through the whole approval process again.
The appraisal came back within the price we had set which I knew that it would and I know that the title company has the paperwork because they sent out a survey crew. It just seems maddening slow right now as we are in limbo. We want to get moving but have to wait for the house to close. Then we will be frantically moving our stuff because we will have 14 days to complete the move. Although I may tell them we need a full 30 because they have given us such a rough patch with the financing debacle.
That's the latest. Winter in Ohio has been mild but she has had trouble letting go. Saturday we had about an inch of snow and finally it warmed back up a bit. Can't wait to get back on the road!

Some pictures from the time we have been home.
Fog hanging low.
The man who lived in the house before we bought it had several people run over his mailbox and in the ten years we lived in the house we only had it happen once and that was this winter. The guy hit it pretty good. Tore the 4x4 post off at ground level and ran over the lilac bush. I found broken reflector on the ground. He left a note but when I called the number they said that there was no one by that name there.

I've been working on getting a new wheelchair through the OSU adaptive seating clinic. On one trip I took Becky to The Boat House in Columbus. The restaurant sits on the confluence of the Scioto and Olentangy Rivers. It was our diner our for out 11th anniversary!
