Ocean Cove to Vacaville

September 16 Wednesday we woke up to cloudy skies and it rained on and off for the rest of the day and I am sure that the people of California are grateful. I read that Tuesday that LA got a record 2.39 inches of rain in a 24 hour period. Anyways after Becky and Patrick looked at a sea cave and explored along the ocean I got the trailer ready to go and was glad to get in the truck as the rain began in earnest.
As I was packing up, a fellow came over to borrow some jumper cables. He was part of a group that was having a good time last night and ended up giving Becky several servings of abalone in exchange for some cooking oil. I had a small bite and it was good. I stay away from that stuff because of my (sniff, sniff) :-( seafood allergy.
He brought back the jumper cables and then we got underway.

We left Highway 101 taking 116 east towards Sacramento. This was designated a scenic route according to the sign on the side of the road and it wound along a river and took us through picturesque small towns and vineyards. Lots of places to stop and test the vino but we did not.
As we came into Vavaville the traffic was heavy maybe because of the wildfire in the area.
In Vaca, we were poised to head north to Cloverdale if Becky was able to contact friends there. We ended up missing Randy and Lorie who happened to be north of Tahoe were we were headed. Hi Randy and Lorie! (sorry if I spelled your name incorrectly)

No pics of the campsite it was a typical RV spot with gravel and dirt. We holed up out of the rain and chill for the evening.
