Grand Fork to Medora, ND

July 1 There wasn't much to do to load up since we didn't unhook last night and we were ready to go fairly quickly. It was a long day of traveling ahead of us. It was a three tank of gas day. A long slog that we rarely do because everyone is ready to get out of the car and gets grumpy.

North Dakota must be the capital of growing canola. It makes for beautiful scenery.

I couldn't believe how swampy it was. The fields contoured around the marshy ground leaving small ponds, cattails and mud. All the rain in recently weeks had the water levels up everywhere.

The geographic center of North America...there is one in South Dakota also. This one is in Rugby, ND where we also got the flat tire fixed. It had a nail in it. We ate lunch while the tire was fixed and then we rode on south and west.

Lots of canola and wind power.

This blue is flax seed.

Salem Sue the world's largest Holstein cow built by the chamber of commerce to honor all the dairy farmers in the area.

This is a sculpture along the road. It was one of many on a different road off the interstate.

Becky was bored so was playing with camera. Patrick played on the computer.

Finally we came out of the plains and into the Badlands. It was like snapping your fingers the change in landscape.

My sticker collection grows!
We entered the park and headed for the camp ground.

View from the front door. We found a handicap site available for us and set up camp. It was tight and the sites not very large but it worked and we had two water spigots in the site and we had some good neighbors.
