Indiana to Illinois

From Indiana, we headed for John and Tonya Wise's home in Dakota, IL. Becky and Tonya are good friends and Becky is good friends with Tonya's mother who lives near us in Ohio. John and Tonya have six kids, two girls to bookend four rambunctious boys from 12 to 5. Patrick had a blast playing with them and one of the neighbor boys. He was sad to leave.
I decided to take US 30 as far we we could to the west and traced back down to 30 before heading west. US 30 runs through Upper Sandusky at home and I have been on it now from Wooster, Ohio to I59 in IL. The Lincoln Highway was one of the first national roads to transit from the east coast to the west of the US. We had lunch in Joliet at a hotdog restaurant. I wanted some Chicago style dogs and of course there are no pics. We feasted on cased meats and moved on.
Our headquarters.

Isis had a playmate, Xena.
Sunday June 21 was Father's Day and we heard a great message from the preacher at Indian Grove Country Church.   John and Tonya's body shop was a sponsor at a car show in Durand, IL and John had an early eighties Ford Fairlane in the show. Here are some highlights.....
A Calloway Corvette. They spent lots of money for a turbo car and could have waited for the C7 Stingray and got the same horsepower from the factory.

1970 AAR Cuda

Plymouth Roadrunner

Patrick's favorite year of Corvette, the original Stingray, he loves the side pipes.

I liked this guys rat rod which had a turbo charged in line 6 in it and a mini bike with a twin cylinder two stroke snowmobile engine in it that he drag races. Said it would spin the tire for the first 150 feet off the line.
