Rolling west to Van Horn, TX

2/25/2014 We left San Antonio headed for Van Horn, TX, our overnight stop on the way to Phoenix. The change in the scenery was beautiful as we drove. From San Antonio, I expected it to be flat and desert like but the country was full of long rolling hills and high peaks. It was still arid but there were taller trees and more vegetation.

This is how I felt about my wife driving the Tahoe and trailer
More scenery

After we left Fort Stockton, things began to smooth out. It was amazing to see all along I-10 to Tucson, massive walnut and pecan farms with rows and rows and trees often lining both sides of the highway. I didnt get any pictures of them.

Ah the ever present view of the Tahoe snouts.
This is how Patrick felt about the whole thing.
We reached Van Horn and stayed in the KOA there. It was a nice place and had an incredible view. The little diner there had smoked brisket, mashed potatoes, corn and gravy. It was a good meal for the end of the long road day.

Our morning view.
Becky used the panorama setting on the camera to take a nice picture. I remember mom taking pictures of the mountains around Zaragoza, MX and spending a long time piecing them together to make a panorama view of them and now its just a setting on the camera. Technology has come a long way. Hi mom and dad, thanks for dragging us to Mexico!
